The Gayatri Mantra.
First time I heard it sung in this way was profoundly moving, even though I had no idea what was being said. It’s from 1400ish BCE. The basic translation is:
We meditate on that most adored Supreme Creator, whose divine light illumines all realms. May this divine light illumine our intellect.
Savitur is a Vedic Sun God. When I sing this song, I sing to the Sun.
